Urinary acidification is unfavorable to bacterial development, which is often responsible for this type of stone.

Urinary undersaturation creates unfavorable conditions for the development of struvite and calcium oxalate crystals.

Diluting urine reduces the concentration of struvite and calcium oxalate crystals.

The increase in urinary volume also promotes regular emptying of the bladder.

It has a reduced magnesium content since this mineral is part of the composition of struvite stones.

Royal Canin Urinary S/O LP 18 is indicated for: bacterial cystitis, dissolution of struvite stones, prevention of recurrences of struvite and calcium oxalate urolithiasis.

Contraindications: pregnancy, lactation, growth, chronic kidney disease, metabolic acidosis, pancreatitis or history of pancreatitis, hyperlipidemia, heart disease, use of urine acidifying medications.

Administration period: 5 to 12 weeks of nutritional therapy are required to achieve dissolution of urinary stones. In case of urinary tract infection, Urinary S/O should be prescribed, in combination with an antibacterial agent, for an additional month after obtaining a negative bacteriological urine analysis.
