  Indications for the intestinal diet:
Diet monitoring for gastrointestinal diseases
To compensate for inadequate digestion and gastrointestinal function
For the relief of acute intestinal absorption disorders
Convalescence diet

The aim of the INTESTINAL line is to rebuild the gastrointestinal flora, stabilize the electrolyte balance and compensate for fluid losses. The basic rule is that the food should not overload the digestion, such as through a high fat content or grains. In particular, grains, which dogs can only consume to a limited extent, can disturb the digestion. In the grain-free INTESTINAL line, muscle meat as well as lean meat from the heart and stomach are processed to food quality. This provides the dog with high-quality, healthy amino acids and omega-6 fatty acids. Light, highly digestible vegetables and fruits provide natural fiber, vitamins, minerals and trace elements. It also contains the healthy herbs chamomile, anise and caraway, which are known to soothe the gastrointestinal tract and relieve colic. The husks of linseed and psyllium have a digestive effect. Yarrow also improves the flow of bile, while gingko is considered a free radical scavenger. Mineral earth (= Luvos healing earth) helps to buffer excess acids. MCT oil provides quickly available energy and probiotics (= effective microorganisms / EM) help the intestinal flora to rebalance.

Acute or chronic inflammation of the digestive tract and general intestinal diseases are associated with mild to severe symptoms in dogs. Acute inflammation can affect the stomach (gastritis), intestines (enteritis) or the entire digestive tract (gastroenteritis). Triggered by a bacterial or viral infection, parasites or general illness, a dog with inflammation of the digestive tract presents with fatigue, fever, vomiting and diarrhea. Decreased appetite, flatulence and intestinal cramps can also be classic symptoms. The chronic form of this inflammation is IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease), in which the dog suffers from permanent digestive disorders and the cause is unknown. Severe diarrhea lasting more than two days can lead to dehydration in the sick animal. A dehydrated animal can be recognized by deeply sunken eyes, states of exhaustion, a very "sticky" mucous membrane in the mouth and a low elasticity of the skin. In case of dehydration, persistent diarrhea or if a serious gastrointestinal disease is suspected, the animal should receive veterinary care. In addition to medical therapy, it is also necessary to switch to a gastrointestinal diet in order to optimally support the recovery of the digestive tract and its function or to accompany it permanently in the case of chronic diseases. If a serious gastrointestinal disease is suspected, the animal must receive veterinary care.
