Highly digestible ingredients compensate for decreased intestinal enzyme activity and ensure optimal nutrient absorption, making this diet ideal for patients with gastrointestinal disorders such as acute and chronic diarrhoea, vomiting and/or flatulence. The high content of fat-soluble vitamins and minerals compensates for impaired intestinal absorption. The increased level of electrolytes compensates for the increased losses that occur in diarrhoea and vomiting. It contains yeast ß-1,3/1,6-glucans that can bind to receptors on leukocytes and alert the immune system, supporting the immune response. This diet contains egg powder rich in immunoglobulins. Immunoglobulins can bind to specific bacteria, viruses and protozoa in the gastrointestinal tract, preventing pathogens from attaching to the intestinal wall, damaging the villi and causing associated diarrhoea. Additionally, the diet contains mannan oligosaccharides (MOS) that can bind to pathogenic bacteria, preventing them from attaching to the intestinal wall. MOS also supports local immunity in the gut. Psyllium husk contains soluble, gel-forming fibers that absorb several times their weight in liquid and are known to be beneficial in regulating gastrointestinal tract activity and protecting the mucosa. Yucca extract reduces the production of unpleasant-smelling gas and stool odor.

Digestive Support Wet is indicated for acute and chronic gastrointestinal disease associated with diarrhea, vomiting and/or flatulence, exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, malabsorption/maldigestion, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), colitis and convalescence.
