ACANA Biologically Appropriate foods replicate the high and varied inclusion of whole fresh meats that dogs and cats would find in their natural environment.

Rich in meat

Dogs and cats evolved as carnivores, so ACANA contains 45 to 65% meat ingredients, approximately double the amount found in conventional foods.

Diversity of meats

In nature, dogs and cats benefit from a variety of prey, so ACANA also provides proteins and fats from different meats.
This variety is not found in conventional foods, which usually only contain chicken or lamb.

Fresh meats

Unmatched by any other dog and cat food manufacturer, the fresh, unprocessed meats used in ACANA provide proteins and fats in their most natural form.
Although many conventional foods are marketed as fresh, most contain little or no fresh meat.
