Use:

Step 1
Undercoat trimming can be performed at any time on a pet with a completely dry coat, but for best results, it is recommended that it be performed immediately after washing or drying. The extensive line of FURminator® brand grooming products are designed to promote healthy skin and coat in pets and significantly reduce the amount of hair being shed in the home with regular use.

Step 2
Before using the undercoat deshedding tool, do a thorough physical inspection of your pet. Look for wounds, bruises, and skin problems that your pet’s fur may be hiding. If your pet has any of these conditions, seek treatment from a veterinarian before brushing. Also, before using the undercoat deshedding tool, remove tangles with the FURminator® Fur Removal Tool or Grooming Rake.

Step 3
Use the undercoat deshedding tool, which looks much like a brush, to gently stroke your pet’s coat in the direction of hair growth, angling the stainless steel teeth toward the coat. Start at your pet’s head and work your way back, taking extra care near the stomach, legs, genitals, and anus. Avoid using excessive strokes in one area, instead using fewer, long, smooth strokes away from your pet’s skin. While the design of the Skinguard prevents digging into the edges and helps the undercoat deshedding tool glide over the skin, deep or harsh brushing can still irritate your pet’s skin, so avoid brushing with excessive pressure. If you notice any redness or irritation, discontinue use.

STEP 4
As the undercoat hairs are collected by your tool, excess hair can be removed from the tool's teeth by pressing the FURejector® button. Furminator Undercoat Brush - Long Hair, is a product indicated for cats.
