Doses of supplemental foods should be determined with the veterinarian overseeing the treatment. Unless otherwise recommended by a veterinarian, several small meals should be offered throughout the day. The amount of food should be adapted to the individual metabolism of the animal and may need to be moderately reduced or increased during the process. Recommended period of use: for chronic renal failure and chronic heart failure, initially up to six months. If the food is recommended for temporary renal failure, the recommended feeding period is two to four weeks.
